Dr. Marcia Anderson Decoteau is a leader, advocate, and visionary. Her innovative approach to health and healing helped create Indigenous medicine electives for students, Indigenous health toolkits for medical educators, and a comprehensive online course to ensure the delivery of culturally safe and competent medical care for any health care professionals treating Indigenous patients.
Marcia is currently the Section Head of First Nations, Metis and Inuit Health and Assistant Professor in the departments of Community Health Sciences and Internal Medicine at the University of Manitoba.
Marcia is a past president of the Indigenous Physicians Association of Canada and has received National awards and recognition for her contributions to the healthcare field.
